I’m a sucker for time travel and time-related themes. Name a time flick and I’ve probably seen and loved it: Predestination, ARQ, Edge of Tomorrow, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Age of Adaline, Interstellar, to name a few. Books, too: the TimeRiders series is an absolute favorite, as well as The Time Traveler’s Wife novel, All You Need is Kill (the novel Edge of Tomorrow was adapted from, which was originally a manga), All Our Yesterdays, and A Knight in Shining Armor, which my mother introduced to me back in high school.
So I was delighted to find the Quantum Wanderlust anthology while I was browsing through Staci Troilo‘s Amazon profile and searching for a quick but satisfying read. Staci is a multi-genre, award-winning author, and a member of the award-winning writing blog Story Empire — but most of all she’s among the group of amazingly kind and supportive authors I’ve met in the WordPress community! Who would’ve thought that a rookie author like me would have conversations with authors like her? It’s been such an honor and a pleasure! 💖
Anyway, there was no way I wouldn’t have picked up the book, with a premise like this:
What if you had all the time in the world?
Thirteen authors answer that question with short stories about time travel. Go back in time to right a wrong, forward to see the future. No jump is too large, no method unfeasible, no lesson beyond learning.
I didn’t even bother to read the summary of the stories in the rest of the blurb; I just dove right in! If not for work and some offline commitments, I would’ve finished the book in a couple of hours. I enjoyed the variety of the stories, which ranged from fantasy to scifi to historical to romance to dystopian… yeah, you get the drift. Photographic Memory stood out to me, and Staci’s own Vicious Circle left quite an impression. (I mean, I saw that twist coming. I’ve consumed enough time travel books and movies to have anticipated it. But my gut still twisted when the ball dropped, anyway!)
Do you need to satisfy your wanderlust too? Then get your copy of this wonderful book on Amazon for only .99c. Also, please don’t forget to leave a review, thank you so much! ✨

And it’s well deserved, Joan! 🥰 By the way, I was amazed by the details in your story in terms of aircraft and flying and military things. (See, I don’t even know the right terms to use, haha!) And I enjoyed the twist, even if it was bittersweet! Or perhaps because it was.

Wow, Marie. What a wonderful surprise! I feel odd seeing the title say the anthology is by “me and friends” because I don’t think of it as being my “me” in any sense. It was definitely a group effort. But I’m delighted you picked up the anthology and liked the stories. Thank you very much.
And thanks for the Story Empire shout-out, too. This was a lovely way to wrap-up the week. 🙂
